George Ritzer is Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at the University of Maryland, where he was named a Distinguished-Scholar Teacher and received the American Sociological Association???s Distinguished Contribution to Teaching Award. His authored works include Sociology: A Multiple Paradigm Science, The McDonaldization of Society, and Enchanting a Disenchanted World. Chris Rojek is Professor of Sociology at City University London. He has published extensively on leisure, culture, celebrity, nationalism, and popular music. His books include Lifestyle Gurus: Constructing Authority and Influence Online and Presumed Intimacy: Parasocial Interaction in Media, Society, and Celebrity Culture. J. Michael Ryan is Professor-Researcher at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He has held academic positions across five continents and led award-winning projects at the National Center for Health Statistics in Washington, D.C. He is co-author of The McDonaldization of Society 11th Edition, Introduction to Sociology 6th Edition, and COVID-19: Social Inequalities and Human Possibilities.
